Myrtle Beach Relocation Information

Population  “Resort Lifestyle”

The city has a population of 25,000 permanent residents, the number of visitors swells to an estimated 13.5 million as people vacation here. Much of the activity is focused on  water sports, golf and other entertainment.   Many people move here from elsewhere, and quickly join in the spirit of southern hospitality, welcoming others and enjoying community events. While the number of visitors is large, it actually never really feels crowded since the area itself is spread over 60 miles.  History

In the 1800’s the rice plantations were well developed. Tourism began in the early 1900’s, with the first hotel built in 1901 and beachfront homes could be bought for about $500.  (WHAT A GREAT INVESTMENT!)  In 1936, the Inter coastal Waterway opened.  The town of Myrtle Beach was officially incorporated in 1938.   A major hurricane in 1954 brought about new developments and an upsurge in golf that launched Myrtle Beach into one of the most favored vacation spots.

The Grand Strand has over 60 miles of clean white sand, palms, emerald fairways, and warm sunny days. We have over 1500 restaurants, deep sea fishing, great golf, and too many shopping and theater attractions to count. Myrtle Beach is a year round resort with our mild year round temperatures and warm summer days.
